Do you have to
be a super fit, lean mean diving
machine? - absolutely!
NOT.
Should you be in good general health and does improved fitness really impact your diving? Well, the answer to both is an unsuprising - YES
A more appropriate question might be, what is right for me and what sorts of benefits will I gain by improving my physical condition. Of course there are the usual benefits accrued by improving general fitness but also there are others that perhaps you are not aware of.
In this
article we will explore some of
them presented as a 'general
read' but also offer a (free)
subscription to our periodic
newsletter which explores these
aspects in more detail and also
describes specific exercises that
are focussed upon helping you get
the most from your diving.
You might be
like me (in the middle realm -
which my kids refer to as
ancient!), you may be retired and
of course you may be quite a bit
younger, 20 something, quite fit,
which of course all the rest of us
were - once!
The point is that Diving per se is not really an age thing. You can dive no matter how old you are, PROVIDING you maintain a good level of overall fitness appropriate to the type of diving you engage in.
So the message is that to be a safe diver, be a reasonably fit diver. That way you are sure to get the best out of your diving adventures!
